A message from the Executive Director.......         Welcome to our website! We are delighted to have this new medium to communicate with "friends in education" both old and new! Those who already know us at CLD, know that we are passionate about our mission. What an incredible opportunity to work in partnership with you to give our children a brighter future!         Since 1992, the CLD team of psychologists and educators has been working on research-based practices which are both realistic and replicable. Where proven solutions already existed, we used them; where no solution existed, we pooled knowledge and resources to create them. Our philosophy is pretty simple: we believe in helping schools and youth-serving agencies achieve the most they can for every struggling student. To do this, the following principles guide our efforts: Systems design - a well-designed systems-approach must be in place to ensure an effective outcome Equipping teachers - we believe every teacher should be equipped with the resources he/she needs to serve all students well Research-based practices - all intervention should be based on proven and effective methods or we’re wasting valuable time and effort Progress monitoring - we must assess both our students efforts and our own at close intervals and then act on what we find Differential Instruction - giving every child what he/she needs when he/she needs it Accountability - accountability should be in place at every level from administration to the individual student         Within this site, we’ll try to share the best information we’ve gained from our endeavors, and we’ll supply links to other resources which we hope will help you maximize the potential of a struggling learner you know. And, if you have an idea to share or a solution to a problem, please pass it along.
